Your biannual dental hygiene and teeth cleaning visits fall under general dentistry, and these visits are the best way to detect dental problems before they get too serious. Our hygienists genuinely care about your teeth, and will perform a thorough cleaning each time.

If you do end up with oral health problems, some of the other general dentistry services we offer include:

We offer emergency dental visits for our existing patients, but this is not a 24-hour service. If you have a true dental emergency that needs to be treated immediately, please call 911 or visit the emergency room.

In addition to the actual oral surgeries, we can also provide any tests or biopsies needed. This saves you from having to run around town making multiple appointments at different offices.

Sleep Apnea

woman distressed by man snoringSleep apnea is a fairly common condition in which your breathing is obstructed while you sleep, causing you to stop breathing several times during the night. Symptoms caused by sleep apnea can include:

  • Loud snoring
  • Drowsiness during the day
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Irritability
  • Headaches

Sleep apnea can interfere with the quality of life of both you and your partner. Untreated sleep apnea can also cause your risk of hypertension, heart disease, and stroke to rise.

Dr. Clancy can help treat cases of mild to moderate sleep apnea by prescribing a MicroO2 orthotic device. This device helps to keep your jaw and tongue in place while sleeping, so that your airways are not obstructed.

young man with jaw painTMJ, or temporomandibular joint disorder, is a condition caused by misalignment of the jaw that can result in a wide variety of symptoms, including:

  • Jaw pain
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Chronic headaches
  • Clicking or popping of the jaw
  • Difficulty moving the jaw

If you have chronic pain that has so far gone undiagnosed, it's possible that you are suffering from TMJ. Dr. Clancy has extensive training in neuromuscular dentistry, and can help diagnose and treat TMJ. He uses sophisticated instruments to help find the best position for your jaw, and will prescribe the best treatment option to help with realignment.

Treatment options can include the use of an orthotic device to gently reposition your bite, or dental restorations to help align your bite.
